Nine
foals came back for a final, to show their good type and gaits again. The jury
placed the foals in the final based on how they showed in the final and did
not take the scores of the group class into account. Sir Sinclair was
represented by four offspring in this final, Rousseau by two.
Out
of their successful broodmare Jolie (by Wanroij) Carlos and Karin Jimenez bred
the fourth placed Athena du Rouet (by Balou du Rouet).
This well developed and long lined filly has a lot of the looks of her
grandsire and Olympic Champion Baloubet du Rouet. The light colored chestnut
moved with a good posture and uphill tendency.

The final class at ISF keuring under hot and humid
temperatures goes down in the history book of the NAWPN as the best
ever. Sixteen of the 19 foals received a first premium. The four jury
members - Dr. Deborah Harrison, Kathy Kuhn, Lana Sneddon and Faith
Fessenden took turns being the spokeswoman for one of the four groups in
the foal class.

Balou
du Rouet
|
Balou du Rouet, named after his illustrious sire, is the perfect
sports type, equipped with maximum elasticity in the basic gaits
and first-class jumping quality. He became the public's darling
at his first stallion parade and achieved an excellent
performance test in Vechta which was marked with jumping marks
of 9.5 and 10 by the test riders. His impressive rideability is
of great importance for his future sporting and breeding career.
His sire Baloubet du Rouet, currently one of the most successful
show jumping stallions at the international level (triple World
Cup winner, winner of many Grand Prix, recent winner of the
World Cup in Geneva, etc.), has a special-class pedigree. Sire
Galoubet is a son of the well-known stallion Almé. On Alme's
dam's side (by Rantzau), he is directly related to the founder
of the great Holsteiner line, Cor de la Bryere. Balou du Rouet
has inherited jumping style of this founding father. His dam, by
Contender, and out of Georgette, is modern and
performance-orientated and has already produced Sandrissimo, who
is successful in championships and Grand Prix. Balou du Rouet is
sought-after as a breeding horse in Germany and abroad.

Description:
The crowds favourite at all his
appearances. His gaits are equipped with
maximum elasticity and completing an
excellent Stallion Performance Test, he
was awarded top marks for jumping, 9.5 and
10.0 by the ‘foreign judges'. He
promptly won his first jumping competition
with ease. His impressive rideability is
of great importance for his future
development in his sporting and breeding
career. Sire Baloubet du Rouet, at the
moment one of the most successful jumping
stallions on the international stage
(three-times World Cup Champion in a row,
winner of many Grand Prix’s, recent
winner of the Top-Ten-Finals in Geneva),
has an exceptional pedigree. Grandsire
Galoubet is son of the great stallion Almé.
On the dam’s side, through Rantzau, he
is directly related to the founder of the
bloodline ”Cor de la Bryere” from
Holstein, the likeness can be seen in
Balou du Rouet’s jumping style and
ability. His stunning dam, Georgia is by
the increasingly popular Contender son,
Continue. He emphasises his dominant
quality as a producer in type, elegance
and movement with numerous foals, who at
various auctions have all been sold for
above-average prices. Balou du Rouet, our
promising prospect for this year’s
National Young Horse Championships.

Description:
Oldenburger Silver Medallist 2005
One of the best German horses in his
age group
A favourite with the crowds at all
of his appearances. Equipped with
maximum elasticity in his gaits, he
completed an excellent Stallion
Performance Test awarded with the
top marks of 9.5 and 10.0 for
jumping by the ‘foreign’ judges.
He has continued his sporting career
in supreme style, winning several
classes judged on style and ability
up to “M level”. He won the
final qualification at the German
Young Horse Championships with the
top score of 9.2 and in the final
was one of the four best approved
stallions in Germany. Sire Baloubet
du Rouet, currently one of the most
successful jumping stallions on the
international stage (individual gold
medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games
in Athens, three-times World Cup
Champion in a row, winner of many
Grand Prix’s), has an exceptional
pedigree. Grand sire Galoubet is son
of the great stallion Almé. On the

from Holstein through Rantzau. The
similarity can be seen in Balou du

His stunning dam Georgia is by the
increasingly popular Contender son,
Continue. Once again, Balou du Rouet
emphasises his dominant quality as a
producer in type, elegance and
movement with numerous foals at many
different auctions. This year we
look forward to seeing his offspring
at their first approvals. His first
crop of youngsters confirmed their
quality at the approvals; one of his
sons out of a Sandro mare was the
most expensive premium stallion at
the Oldenburg Approvals in Vechta.

Born 1952 died 1978. 168 cm, Black
Breeder – Hans Meyer, Lüdingsworth
Stood at: Großenwörden 1956 to 1960, Kehdingbruch 1961 to
1967, Splietau 1968 to 1978, Approved sons: Diskus, Dömitz
II, Domino, Domschatz and Dux Z.
This Hanoverian D line begins with the
Thoroughbred, Devil’s Own (Robert the Devil / Camerino)
who lived from 1894 – 1906. His blood was diseminated in
Hannover by his great great grandson, Detektiv, who lived
from 1926 to 1943 and in fact was bred to Devil’s Own both
through his sire, Desmond, and his dam’s sire, Khedive.
Of Detektiv's three stallion sons, Denksport
produced nothing while Dolman was the most influential, and
the Dolman son, Dollart, started the sub-line, that leads
through Domitz to Domspatz. The more influential Dolman son
was Duellant, whose stallion line continues through
Dressmann. The third stallion son of Detektiv, Dwinger
established another line that lead through Diskant to
Donnerwetter to Donnerhall, but that is another story.
A large framed black horse Domspatz has been described by
Claus Schridde ‘as the quintessence of loyal showjumper
horses with a preparedness to perform.’
He was fortunate to begin his career at the Großenwörden
showjumper station, where he managed to establish himself
permanently in the mare base.
After this, he covered in Kehdingbruch in the Hadeln region,
before he changed over to the Splietau showjumper station in
the Hanoverian Wendland region. He was very popular with the
Splietau breeders, where he remained until his death in
1978.
Domspatz left behind a number of top quality horses for the
international showjumping sport, including Dömitz (Gerd
Wiltfang), Domspatz (Thomas Frühmann), Don Rudolpho (Franke
Sloothaak and Michael Matz), Donath (Heinfried Simon),
Dorillo (Hugo Simon) and many more.
His sons Domino, Domschatz and Don Rudolpho (also known as
Dux Z), were privately owned and all competed successfully
up to Advanced level. The bay Domino had great opportunities
at the Paul Schockemöhle station and is found in a number
of bloodlines.
Dux Z was an active showjumper for a considerable time and
covered in Uelzen, not far from his original home in the
Wendland region, when he was older. He produced a
surprisingly high number of top level showjumpers.
Another black stallion son, Diskus was the only Domspatz to
go into the services of the Celle state stud. He also
produced a number of first class showjumpers including
Denizen (Tim Grubb), The Natural (a World Cup winner in 1987
with Katherine Burdsall) and Doreen (Tjark Nagel).
Despite his time at Celle, Diskus did not really establish a
male line. Two stallion sons, Diadem and Dupont were tried,
and while Diadem produced a few nice dressage horses, no
great showjumpers emerged.
While Domspatz was unable to establish a male line, his
blood is still highly regarded in the mare lines today,
especially at the three stations at which he stood in his
long career. As late at as 1981, on the official German FN
figures of progeny winnings in the sport, Domspatz made it
to 8th place in a very illustrious top ten (Gotthard,
Ferdinand, Der Löwe xx, Furioso II, Grande, Ehrenschild,
Sender, Domspatz, Perser xx, Ladykiller).
