Hi Karin, I thought you would like to know that I did end up showing Mick at WEF. The first week I showed him he was 3rd u/s and 5th o/f out of 25 (I have been showing jumpers for the past year and was a little fast for the hunters!). Last week I managed to slow down and we were 3rd and 8th o/f the first day and won our first class the second day out of 30. In our last class, Mick felt the need to show everyone he's still got it and landed from the last line bucking like a nut. But we still had enough points to clinch reserve champion. I just thought you would like to hear about the old man's achievements. There aren't many horses that can spend six months foxhunting and paperchasing and then go to Palm Beach and win! Especially at 18 years, competing against horses that were easily six figures. Mick is still in FL as I have leased him out to a pre-children's rider for the next month. He was so happy down there that I felt guilty bringing him home! Hope you and the family are well. Say hello to Carlos and Lauren for me. :)Best, Jen

<<I wanted a horse with a good mind, that an amateur could ride, yet
talented enough that a professional could take to a higher level, in both
Dressage and Jumping. This horse also had to fantastic bloodlines, so that
I could make her my foundation broodmare and elevate the level of horses that I
was breeding. A lot to ask for? I found this very special horse at Karin
and Carlos Jimenez's Sporting Chance Farm. I bought Wings from SCF, sight
unseen, and shipped her across the continent to California. She arrived,
fresh and beautiful, and she has been a pleasure to own. Karin is
wonderful to work with and was tremendously helpful with every facet of the
transaction. I look forward to continuing my relationship with Karin, SCF
and her successful horses.
In Nov, 2005, I purchased a foal in-utero from Carlos & Karin Jimenez of Sporting Chance Farm. From the first time I spoke to Karin, I felt comfortable buying our foal in-utero. After sealing the deal, Karin has been excellent at keeping me updated on the progress of the mare as well as calling us when she was getting ready to foal. The horses at Sporting Chance Farm are very well taken care of and the breeding program there has proven over and over to be very successful.

Now that the foal is born, I could not be happier with the way that she has turned out. She is a beautiful chestnut filly that is big, strong and correct. "Bellara" is by Indoctro pref X Nova keur. She has grand prix jumper written all over her! Karin has been great to deal with. She is very honest and very accommodating. She bends over backwards to make her clients happy. She has a wealth of knowledge that she freely shares and her horses are top international quality. For anyone looking for a horse for breeding or sport, I would definitely recommend Sporting Chance Farm. Brian Vander Helm Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada>>

Devon Horse Show 2004 2nd place "Utopia" is a 2001 KWPN registered Dutch Warmblood filly that already has an excellent show record behind her. She is by the internationally winning Grand Prix dressage stallion, "Idocus" and out of Dressage at Devon winner, and fabulous producer "Jolie" (by Wanroij who at one time was the leading sire of dressage horses in America). Utopia won her foal class of 40+ foals at DAD under Mr Haring with an 82% for conformation and no score less than an 80%! Utopia then went on to be awarded a coveted First Premium with the NA/WPN to prove her quality once again. This filly has it all, beautiful looks, correct conformation, athletecism, quiet temperament and three excellent gaits. It is also important to note that both "Utopia's" sire and dam are excellent jumpers as well, making her a prospect for either discipline. "Utopia" has several full siblings that have also been very successful, the most well known being "Olympia", a three time winner at DAD in hand, and second place at DAD under saddle. "Olympia" was also awarded her "Ster" and was Third in the country for the NA/WPN's Best of the Best year end standings. As the "apple doesn't fall far from the tree", "Utopia" would be an asset to anyone looking for a fancy performance horse now, and an exceptional broodmare later.

"We highly recommend Sporting Chance Farm
to all of our clients seeking young, talented sport horses. We currently
have two of Karin and Carlos' youngsters in our barn. Both have three
FEI-quality gaits combined with great "volunteer" attitudes.
The youngsters at Sporting Chance Farm are handled regularly, while still
being encouraged to interact with other horses through ample turn-out.
For this reason, they have fantastic minds and an eagerness to work. The
Sporting Chance Farm brood mares are just as impressive as the internationally
renowned stallions to which they are bred. The bottom line:
Karin and Carlos Jimenez have given American riders the ability to
purchase international caliber horses without leaving the USA."

A full brother to our foundation broodmare, Jolie (Wanroij X Enchante xx), Insignia was our first KWPN foal. He was awarded a First Premium by the NA/WPN and was named one of the top ten foals in the country. After showing successfully on the line, he was sold to Jennifer Batchelor and began a career in the hunter ring that has spanned more than a decade. Insignia has won at some of the most prestigious shows in the country, including Devon and Harrisburg. He has brought home tricolors in several divisions with several different riders, and has qualified for the Zone II Hunter Finals numerous times. In 2003, he won the $10,000 North American League Children’s Hunter Final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show. At age 15, he is still showing and winning! This line produces horses that can truly do it all, as is evidenced by the winnings of Utopia ster, Olympia ster, Priceless, Rubicon and Wizard. We hope that Zoe will continue the tradition when she makes her hunter breeding debut this spring. Watch for her in 2005!
I
purchased Insignia, affectionately known as “Mick” or “Micki,” when he
was three years old. He had an outstanding jump, a ton of stride and even more
personality. During the many years that I owned him, Mick’s talent exceeded
my expectations. Everywhere he went, people admired him and asked whether he
was for sale. He never had a stop in him, and lived to horse show. Until I sold him to focus on graduate school, Mick and I enjoyed hacking bareback, galloping cross-country fences and bringing home loads of ribbons in the children’s and adult amateur hunters. Mick went on to win too many tricolors to count and earned top ribbons from the Zone II Hunter Finals, first with amateur Susan Cordell of Marlton, NJ, and later with junior Ashley Hotz of Shamong, NJ. In 2003, Ashley and Mick won the $10,000 North American League Children’s Hunter Final at the Pennsylvania National Horse Show in Harrisburg, Pa. The pair also earned a blue over fences at the 2003 Zone II Finals. Mick, now 15 years old, will spend the 2005 season showing a new rider the ropes in the pre-children’s hunters. Jen

FILLY BY FERRO IS THE TOP FOAL IN THE COUNTRY SO FAR!!!
NEVER SAY NEVER KEUR PREFERENT WITH HER SIR DONNERHOLL COLT BOLERO
The following
excerpt is from the NA/WPN "On the Road Report":
Never say never when someone invites you to judge horses in Nova Scotia. Never Say Never (Wanroij x Talk of Gold xxa x Milkie xx), the foundation mare of Martha Haley's breeding program, was presented along with her 4 year old daughter (by Idocus), 2 year gelding (by Idocus), yearling colt (by Ferro) and granddaughter (Orame x Idocus), and all received a first premium. Never Say Never, bred by Dr. Carlos and Karen Jimenez received a star in the morning due to her good conformation and supple movement as well as her good technique during the free jumping. Under saddle, she proved her ridablity and not only showed good jumping technique, but showed that she had scope as well. The final score for the riding test was 73. All of the Never Say Never offspring had extremely good necks and polls <<Hi
Colleen, I am the very proud owner of Never Say Never, keur preferent. I
bought her from Karin as a 2 yr. old. I had admired Utopia, but she was
way out of my price range. Never Say Never (aka. Winnie), I bought sight
unseen - only a picture - no video. But she had been #2 XFB foal in the
North American keuring, so I trusted the jury saw something special. I had
a good feeling about this filly and obviously, I was right.I consider Never Say
Never to be "the goose that laid the golden egg" - she has been
incredibly successful as a broodmare.
