Performance

Performance 1991
Intelligent, friendly, attentive, playful, honest, good humored, and impertinent in a pleasant way. He was saddle broke at the start of the test. He has a great deal of power and suppleness with strong use of the hindleg. The walk is more than sufficient. The trot is more than sufficient and is sufficiently carried with a lot of knee action. The canter is well carried, elastic and big. He has a good take-off in jumping, good leg technique, good bascule, a lot of scope; he pays attention to the jump. He does very well in cross-country. He makes strong demands on his rider in order to get good results. He gives an average feeling in dressage and a very good feeling in jumping. Work is easy for him and he is very willing to work. He has sufficient talent for dressage and a great deal of talent for jumping. He was in good condition upon arrival and remained that way. Good stall behavior.

Balou du Rouet Balou du Rouet

Modern up and coming producer heading for the top A picture perfect career: after winning one young horse class after another and gaining marks up to 10.0 in his 30-day test, Balou du Rouet successfully “landed” at the 1.50m level. Already in 2005 he caught everyone’s attention by scoring the highest mark of 9.2 at the national championships, making him one of Germany’s top 4 licensed stallions. His enormous jumping talent, combined with great elastic gaits and a fascinating charisma make Balou du Rouet an exciting choice for the breeders of sports horses. Once again, Balou du Rouet emphasises his dominant quality as a producer in type, elegance and movement, with numerous foals at many different auctions. He continuously produces finalists for the German foal championships. Offspring of Balou du Rouet have been approved at almost every stallion licensing – most notably the licensed “BE BRAVO”, who sold for € 350.000 as the most expensive horse of the 2007 AOS auction. His number of approved sons has amounted to over ten stallions. As a descendant of Baloubet du Rouet - gold medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens and an incredible three-times successive World Cup Champion – he has one of the most successful jumping stallions on the international scene in his pedigree. His grand sire Galoubet is a son of the great stallion Almé and was already an international success at the young age of seven. He won team gold in 1982 at the World Championships. On the dam’s side, Balou du Rouet is directly related to the founder of the bloodline, Cor de la Bryere, from Holstein through Rantzau xx. The offspring of the dam’s sire, Continue, achieved lifetime earnings of over € 230.000. Numerous licensed stallions are descendents from the dam line. Balue du Rouet – the future has begun with impressive achievements as a producer! General Information. Balou du Rouet is a favourite with the crowds at all of his appearances. He completed an excellent Stallion Performance Test and was awarded with the top marks of 9.5 and 10.0 for jumping by the 'foreign' judges. He was Oldenburg Silver Medallist 2005 and one of the best German horses in his age group. Balou du Rouet is the perfect sports type, equipped with maximum elasticity in the basic gaits and first-class jumping quality.

He has continued his sporting career in supreme style, winning several classes judged on style and ability up to "M level". He won the final qualification at the German Young Horse Championships with the top score of 9.2 and in the final was one of the 4 best approved stallions in Germany.

His sire Baloubet du Rouet, currently one of the most successful jumping stallions on the international stage (individual gold medallist at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, three-times consecutive World Cup Champion, winner of many Grand Prix's), has an exceptional pedigree. Balou's grand sire Galoubet is by the great stallion Almé.

On his dam's side, Balou du Rouet is directly related to the founder of the bloodline "Cor de la Bryere" from Holstein through Rantzau. The similarity can be seen in Balou du Rouet's jumping style and ability. His stunning dam Georgia is by the increasingly popular Contender son, Continue.

Balou du Rouet is a highly sought after breeding stallion. He emphasises his dominant quality as a producer in type, elegance and movement with numerous foals at many different auctions. His first crop of youngsters confirmed their quality at the approvals; one of his sons out of a Sandro mare was the most expensive premium stallion at the Oldenburg Approvals in Vechta.

Comments on pedigree:
By the world famous jumping stallion Baloubet du Rouet, who won the World Cup Championships for three seasons consecutively and then completed his carrier with gold at the Athens Olympics in 2004.

In the motherline we find the stallion Continue, son of the truly world class Contender, who seems permanently lodged in the top 20 stallion rankings.

Description:
A good medium weight type, with look and movement. He shows respect at the fence and a god shape and front leg technique.

Performances and Results:
This outstanding stallion, is already competing at 1.50 m level. He went on from series wins in novice horse show jumping classes to win the qualifier for the Bundeschampionat final with a score of 9.2. In the final itself, he was one of the best four licensed stallions. A perfect 10.0 in his 30-day test gave a strong indication of where this stallion is heading.

Strong points:
Movement, substance, respect.

Comment on conformation offspring:
Balou du Rouet’s offspring are demonstrating impressive jumping ability and excellent movement at stallion performance tests in practically all breeding regions.

Performances and Results offspring:
Apart from Cornet Obolensky, Balou du Rouet was the stallion who had the most offspring at the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf in 2008. Baranus, ridden by Helena Torstensson, won a class at the World Championship for Young Horses in Zangersheide and sold for EUR 120,000 at the PSI Auction. In 2007, the approved stallion Be Bravo sold for the record price of EUR 350,000 at the AOS Auction. Benvinda was the highest-priced lot at Willi Melliger’s auction in Switzerland in 2008.

Mares to use with this stallion: lighter mares who lack substance and a bit weak in the neck and loins. Mares heavier than medium weight should be avoided. Balou has become very popular with British breeders, following a number of successes in the foal futurities.
